Melinda has a masters degree in psychology with a speciality in professional counseling and over ten years of in-depth experience in social services focusing on the needs of children and families.  Her work as a counselor embraces the positive and trusting relationship between therapist and client. She specializes in treating children, adolescents and adults who have suffered varying levels of trauma. More specifically, much of her counseling focuses on the issues around child abuse and neglect. Many of Melinda's clients are adolescents and older children who are going through the difficult stage of discovering themselves.

Children and teens sometimes have difficulty expressing themselves verbally the way that adults may. For this reason, Meilinda finds using activities such as games and other age-appropriate play techniques work effectively in empowering children and adolescents to think and express themselves in creative and meaningful ways.

Melinda's approach to therapy is to help her clients gain control of their thoughts and behaviors through their own unique and specific process. Melinda states, " I believe that we all can live meaningful lives by making sound decisions. My goal is for my clients to gain self-confidence and peace from within.”
